Dublin, Ireland 2019

"An té a bhíónn siúlach bíonn scéalach"– "He who travels has stories to tell", as the beautiful Irish proverb says. Our trip to Ireland is for sure going to be a story we’ll enjoy coming back to.

After a nerve wracking and sleepless night, we slowly started gathering around at Vienna airport on September 25th to board the plane to Dublin. The coaches that took us to our host families arrived after dawn so we didn't see much the first day. On the next day we agreed on meeting in front of the famous Trinity College and immediately noticed that the Irish seem to use traffic lights just as decoration :-).

At Babel language school we were divided into different groups with the help of a basic grammar test. Later that day we did a Walking Tour through Dublin city centre. In the remaining afternoons we did different fun activities such as a Street Quiz, a very amusing Pub Singalong and a breathtaking Cliff Walk in Howth. On Saturday we spent the whole day in Kilkenny soaking in the sights of the small but charming castle and the romantic winding streets.

There were two free afternoons and a free day for us to plan individually. Many went shopping or just strolled around the Temple Bar area. Some students went to Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral with our teachers, some other enthusiastic students did Google Maps guided sightseeing and we all exchanged our experiences later. Our very cool teachers (shout out to you :-)) took those who wanted to the Guinness Storehouse after we had successfully convinced them that we needed to go there in order to feel the Dublin vibe.

Leaving Dublin was again very nerve wracking... Just imagine 60 hyperactive students being ready to go back home and you have the picture of us on October 4th. All in all, we had a very blissful and pleasant stay in Ireland and I believe that all participants of 6A, 6B and 6C would agree.
